oh baby!

Boy have we been busy!! All three of us. Jake and I have been on the road the last few weekends and Bryce has been moving around like crazy. We had a monthly appointment last week. Everything looked great!

Jake is still painting. Bless his heart. I really like the colors we have chosen. I found baby bedding that I liked on pottery barn.com however they were sold out so I was able to track it down in the store in birmingham. We picked it up last weekend. It is so cute. It has little turtles all over it! I started painting a picture for Bryce's room last night.

If you are wondering the current name choice is Bryce Joseph Church. Bryce is no longer referred to as Floyd he is now Bryce all the time except for an occasional slip to which Jacob replies "whos Floyd?"

We spent last weekend at the beach for our one year anniversary. It is so nice to spend some time alone! We had a really good time.

As far as my body goes. Boy are we growing! We are now on our 23rd week. All the normal stuff they say will happen really does happen (ie heartburn, mild swelling of ankles, first stretch mark, etc)Like I said before I am embracing it! My appetite is like a truck driver. I rarely ate less than Jake before pregnancy. But now! Jake has got to think I am some kind of monster.

Thats all for now! be back in touch soon.

So I know it has been a while since I have posted so I have some catching up to do!! Tampa was great and everything went fine. Besides when we were leaving Tampa our plane went to back up and the engine shut down. The captain came on the speaker and said "we cannot get the engine restarted. We are going to have to get someone out here to jump us off". Oh my gosh!! I started to get of the plane, but i looked around and no one seemed to be freaking out so I started taking deep breaths!Besides that great trip! Plus someone actually acknowledged me as pregnant and not just fat!!

The Monday following our return from Tampa, we had our big doctors appointment. They had told me to make sure I drank 32oz of water prior to ultrasound and I chose to drink a little caffeine so this baby would be in motion. I started drinking water about 30 minutes before appointment and when i arrived the receptionist says "the ultrasound tech is with another pt and i have some bad news. Our water is off so we do not have working toilets" Are you kidding me!!! A room full of preggos and no toilet. What a nightmare! So I was able to hold it till ultrasound time thankfully.

We go in for ultrasound and thanks to caffeine Floyd is all over the place. It is amazing to me that they can be so active and you can't feel it to begin with. The tech said everything looked good and asked if we wanted to know the sex. With Jacob holding my hand we both said "yes". Its a Boy!!!! I am one excited mom right now. They also made a cool little video of the ultrasound for us to watch and share. We left the appointment and went straight to target and picked out 5 outfits all of which say "mom" or "dad".

So now we are trying to decide on a boys name and quick because Floyd is starting to stick. The current fav is Bryce! but we are still undecided. I finally picked out a color to paint our first 3 rooms ( bathroom, baby rooms, and hallway). It is a boring tan but I really like the color. Jake has been working hard every afternoon to try to get this house painted. (bless his heart).

I felt Bryce move this past weekend for the first for sure time. I had been feeling something but was not quite sure what I was feeling. This weekend I think he was punching me. I felt it 3 times and then what felt like him rolling around. Truly an amazing experience. It makes it so real!!

I decided on a crib bedding set from pottery barn and of course it is no longer available but I was able to locate one in the store in bham. It is so cute! It has little turtles on it!

We have wedding number 3 this weekend. Thankfully we do not have to travel for this one. I am getting some real good wear out of my navy maternity dress.

I am feeling really good and I am loving the belly rubs from friends and family. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to share with the people you love! It is becoming more real to jake especially since the ultrasound. He is amazing!! Well back to yard work!!

growing!!

So Jacob has been taking pictures of me ever so often throughout pregnancy. We took our 16 week pics this weekend. As we are taking them I say to him, "I don't think I am any bigger now that I was at 10 weeks". :) What a joke. My goodness! when I sat down to compare the pics, I could not believe the change.

We are leaving thurs. to fly to Tampa for wedding #3. It worries me a little but I have faith that everything will be fine. I went and purchased a maternity swim suit. Not very attractive but comfy. I also purchased two pairs of maternity capris. Let me just say, why did I not know about maternity clothes before. THEY ARE SO COMFY! I love the t-shirts. They are long! I may never go back. I actually think jacob is scared that I won't:)

We are starting to pic out paint not only for baby room but for the entire house! Just pray we make it through this project. We have been in our house for almost three years and have not painted a single wall. For those of you who know me well, you know that the color i want will be a shade of brown/tan.

So next monday we find out is Floyd is a b or g. I would be telling a story if i said we do not have our heart set on one or the other. I think we are both not saying it but it is soooo obvious. I will not say which it is but im sure most of you know. We truly want a healthy baby! Boy or girl!!

Changes

What a wonderful thing that is happening to my body! Ok so when I look in the mirror I may not think WONDERFUL but then I think of all the amazing things taking place in my belly. God is truly the ultimate engineer. I gave Jacob some advise. Someone told me to inform him to band FAT from his vocab for the next 5 months. As I could probably understand that it is a joke now, these hormones may not be as forgiving later on in the pregnancy. We are now referring to FAT as maternal storage tissue!! I can definitely tell that the hormones are taking effect on me. I just pray that God gives Jacob the strength to put up with me.
The pregnancy is going great! I am able to keep on with life as normal and I feel very blessed to be able to do so. Floyd and I are doing some walking in the afternoons and enjoying this great weather. What a wonderful time to be pregnant!
We find out if Floyd is a boy or girl on May 3. We are so excited to find out what Floyd actually is. Then we can start nailing down a name! I told Jake that if it is a boy then he will probably continue to call him Floyd regardless of what we name him. It will be one of those situations where people say "where did Floyd come from", and "why didn't they just name you Floyd"?
Well enough for now! Off to work!
